Summer is ending!!!

Hey Internet,

I'm so bad at updating this...but that's a good thing!  Means I have been working!

I've had a truly amazing summer.  I was busy working with Mark Ronson all summer.  We played a few amazing shows in the UK and Australia.  I spent all of June living and playing in London and had some unforgettable moments.  I met a lot of great musicians and was happy to have my bros Billy and Freddy from Charles Bradley's band to play horns with me!

For the fall, I'm headed back to the UK for some private concerts, then in the US the rest of the year.  Antibalas has some great stuff coming up, including a residency at Brooklyn Bowl for the end of October through November.

Thanks for reading, talk soon!

Summer is approaching...

Hey Internet,

Second post for my new website.  Things have been well this spring and into summer.  I just got back from a trip to Tokyo with Antibalas and had a blast playing three nights at the famous Blue Note Tokyo.  We were the first band to ever get all of the audience out of their seats and dancing!!

Additionally, I'm proud to announce that I am an endorsing artist for B.A.C. Musical Instruments out of Kansas City, KS.  Mike Corrigan is the mastermind behind these amazing trombones and trumpets, played by great players such as Trombone Shorty, Big Sam Williams, Saunders Sermons, and others...honored and thrilled to be playing the horn he custom hand built for me.  The world will be seeing it on some big stages and hearing it on some big recordings coming up! Check out my "About" section for more info...

Back in New York City for a bit...got some more pop world life coming up and excited to announce a couple Antibalas shows this summer.  I will be announcing more as soon as I'm legally authorized to =D

Meanwhile, I've been in different studios a lot, working with a number of great artists on some tasty products.  New bands on Epic Records, some new projects on Daptone Records as well as Truth & Soul Records...2015 has been a great year for record releases...but the end of the year and early 2016 is going to be insane!

I'm also preparing to dust off my Brass Kitchen project and get some videos and recordings of my brass band concept out this summer...stay tuned BrassKitchen.com

I'm also working on a new band, a different side of Raymond Mason, that I will unveil to the world by the end of summer.

Big Things Keep Happening!! Stay tuned!

Have a happy and healthy spring and summer!!!

WEBSITE 2.0

Hey Internet,

Man...it's been a while.  I haven't updated my site since the end of July, and things HAVE HAPPENED.  Here are some of the greatest hits from August until now...

  • In the past few months I started playing with Taylor Swift and working with a number of great artists well into 2015.
  • I recorded on a number of projects with Mark Ronson, including his hit single with Bruno Mars, "Uptown Funk", other tracks on his record "Uptown Special", and the soundtrack for the move "Mortdecai", which he helped compose music for.
  • Antibalas embarked on an amazing six week long US and Canadian Tour from the end of January through February with the insanely talented Zap Mama.
  • Shortly after we performed again at Carnegie Hall on March 23rd, this time playing in a tribute to David Byrne and the Talking Heads.  He were once again the house band and played with artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, and Cee Lo Green.

Now we are approaching the beginning of Spring 2015 and many great things are on the horizon.  Will keep you posted as soon as I can.  For now, Antibalas will be headed to Blue Note Tokyo at the end of April for a three shows.  Going to be another unforgettable time in Japan!

Thanks for reading, and welcome the the Rebirth of my website!
